Arnaga/Creation

Creation

An outrageousness work

Edmond Rostand decides to set up home for good in Cambo and finds this land, comprising three lots which when joined together make up a domain of 17 "hectares". He named it "ARNAGA". Why so ? Because there is a brook called "ARRAGA" flowing at the foot of the hill, but Rostand found this name too harsh on the ear, and so he decided to change an "R" for an "N", hence "Arnaga".

He made some sketches and turned to a great Parisian architect of the time, ALBERT TOURNAIRE, to draw up detailed plans.

The house was built between 1903 and 1906.
